100 days

We started seeing each other in January and toward the end of February he caught coronavirus. I went from lover, to nurse, to flatmate in what feels like a whirlwind of a month.

We recently celebrated our 100 days of lockdown together and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. Although I miss the fancy restaurants and nice dates, this cataclysmic disaster of a world we live in gave me the opportunity to slow down and truly learn someone else inside n out! Not only is he the kindest, most wonderful gentleman I've ever met, but he also somehow really brings out the best in me too. My rational, early-twenties brain worries this'll be a beautiful but short-lived love affair but every other fibre in my body is telling me life would be a waste without him.

If anything, this is a thank you. A thank you for all the morning cups of tea, the little kisses on the nape of my neck, your bizarre sense of humour, which always manages to put a smile on my face, for putting up with all of my whims, moods and temper-tantrums, and for just being you.

Here's to our dreams of owning a vineyard and our 80y/o old wrinkled skin, fully adorned in linen, looking back on Rona as if it were a strange dream.

A x
