Closure

You held my hand, we laughed, loved and enjoyed our short time together.
You had been really unhappy and you told me I’d made such a difference to your life.  
I joined your social bubble at weekends, within a few weeks you declared that you loved me.
I met some of your family and we planned future dates for 2021. 
Then you told me some things about your past that confused me and I needed time to think.
I pulled away and you ignored my requested to talk it through. 
When I said I was missing you, you messaged it was over.
How could someone so kind be so cruel, how could someone that loved me change so quickly. 
I’m still lost, probably needed a chat to give me closure. 
I’m consoling myself with, it was a perfect time in my life, short but sweet. we were both really happy and had a strong emotional connection, but it was not our time to be together. 
I will be more cautious in the future.
