Full blast

My boyfriend and I of two years bought our first place together in December last year after a very happy relationship. In February we holidayed in Thailand, in March we got a dog and entered lockdown 1.0 together. By the end of July, he told me had kissed someone else on the week the pubs reopened when I was away at my parents and didn’t know if he wanted to be with me anymore. He left that same weekend and has never gave me an explanation of why he didn’t want to work through anything and what changed so suddenly. I send my love to everyone going through an unexpected break-up during the pandemic without the usual distractions available to you. I focused on my self-care and really started to understand who I am and it has been the most liberating thing to ever happen to me. There are some days I feel resentment but if you feel yourself slipping into victim mentality you have to counteract the negatives with the positives the situation brought you and put on a song which makes up happy on full volume. The best relationship is the one you have with yourself
