Giving birth in lockdown

Giving birth to you during the first lockdown was the life changing event everyone said it would be. What no one knew was how different becoming a mother in lockdown and a global pandemic would be to ‘normal’ times. Having spent the last 3 months of pregnancy isolated, and being isolated with the a newborn, the love and bond we grew was incredible. I actually never felt like I was missing out on much because, honestly, you were and are everything. You have met a few friends and family at a distance when things eased last summer but since then, it’s been just us, your amazing dad and our childcare support bubble of parents. You are so loved and your bring so much joy, and every time I look at you I can’t believe you are mine and I am yours. I love you more every day, and I continue to tell you, every day.
