Here we go again
At the start of the year I met a cute, caring, curly haired guy. He was the most kind-hearted person I think I’ve ever met. We had just over a month of ‘normal’ before lockdown happened and we were forced to forgo a new kind of dating that we had no idea how to do.
He left London for 2 months and I stayed here, walking along the canal every day talking to him on the phone. We got to know each other in such a different way than we would have we were in ‘normal’ times. We both wondered what was going to happen, especially when it got to the point where we had known each other longer in lockdown than out of lockdown. He sent me flowers when I was ill and I sent him beer for his birthday, I guess we both kept at it as just had a feeling it was worth it.
When lockdown lifted he came back to London and we met up again, like nothing had really been in the way of us. We went to a wine bar one night and to his surprise, I asked him to be my boyfriend. We played endless games of cards, ate a large amount of pizza, had many cosy pub trips, and I even had my best friend come with me on my canal walks for these special months.
Fast forward to October, my flat mate has tested positive with Covid. So here I am again, not able to leave the house for 2 weeks. He brought me supplies last night, my room is on the ground floor so we shared a bottle of wine (distanced) out my window. We laughed that here we were again, so close yet so far apart. I can’t wait to beat him at cards again and continue this special adventure.
