In front of me

You're sitting right in front of me at your desk, working. Until a month ago, I had only seen you in 2D on my laptop or phone screen. We met online during lockdown. It all happened so naturally. You have been by my side, creating an environment in which I felt comfortable talking about my struggles - my upcoming graduation from my PhD, the job market, the distance from my parents, feeling scared because of corona. You were always there. I will never forget your face when we finally first met. You put a nice shirt on, it was hot outside. I had to wash my hands before being able to touch you. It was a memorable day. We have been living together for a month now and will continue for the foreseeable future. I've never felt happier and more serene. I love you.
