It was my ex’s birthday in lockdown…

I’ve never really had a girlfriend, though I’ve spent time with girls romantically as if in some sort of relationship. One of them has such a beautiful name it’s unfortunate I can’t share. Her birthday was 2 weeks ago. Meaning she was in quarantine. I sent her our gardens lily of the Vallie flowers and a picture of her with her best friend and my Boys. All who had travelled from different parts of the UK to show support on something I put my heart on. I sent her the flowers and the photo not because I wanted to re visit our romantic times dancing to soul songs in her living room but because she’s a friend of mine. This time has allowed me to realise that. I do still love her in a way. But I love her from the distance when I can see her eyes and smile together. That’s what I love.
