The hardest thing

My boyfriend and I had been going out 18 months when the pandemic hit. We both live at home with our parents as we are fairly recent graduates. We didn’t see each other for 2 months and then we saw each other once a week but socially distanced for another 2 months as we both lived with vulnerable people and we couldn’t risk their health. The hardest thing was seeing him but not having any contact. We called everyday but it just wasn’t the same. That first hug was something I will never forget and we have come out the other side even stronger than ever. Lockdown was hard but it showed how much we wanted to be together.
