14 weeks
We were introduced online through a friend back in July and we spent a few weeks slowly messaging on Instagram. Slowly being the appropriate word...I wasn't sure if anything was there but I found him attractive so I convinced my friend to invite him out with us for drinks in August. It went really well. We both assumed it would jist be a one night stand but the next morning changed everything. We clicked so easily and spent hours laying in bed talking about anything and everything. The second time we met he stayed over for three nights. Then reality hit. He had to go back to work and wasn't allowed to leave for 14 weeks due to Coronavirus restrictions. It was the longest 14 weeks ever. We had over 70 evening calls, sent bi-weekly parcels and wrote each other letters. It was different but it worked for us. We joked that we would end up sliding down the slope of feelings and make each other fall in love from afar. Towards the end of the 14 weeks we decide to plan a trip away together. A week together after 14 weeks apart was daunting. What if things weren't the same as they had been in summer? What if we had both changed? What if summer was a false memory? The fears were all unnecessary. As soon as we saw each other I know I loved him. Within a few days of our holiday we had said the three words to each other.
Now the holiday is over and we are back in England. One of us is in tier 2 and the other in tier 4. The idea of being separated again isn't appealing but if we can do 14 weeks apart once then we can do it again. It's worth it for what we have.
