Not ‘normal’

We started talking on an app in May. She’d moved to Chester to isolate with family and I’m in London. We spoke everyday for 3 months, messaging morning, noon and night. Talking for hours on end till the early hours. We met finally and had the best date. Since then we have seen each other a couple more times with more planned. Despite the distance, the randomness and the problems in our way we adore each other and I wouldn’t change a thing. After 3 years of ‘normal’ dating it seems the ‘new normal’ is what I actually needed. Focusing on getting to know someone first, feeling excited to meet after months of waiting. Lockdown kept us apart but also bought us together. X
