Missed connections

We had a great first date but you decided to pursue something with someone else. I was annoyed at first but it’s cool: we hardly knew each other and I’m sure she’s great. It did make me think about missed connections, though. I wonder about all the alternative futures I could have had, all the people I met at the wrong time, everyone I’ve said no or yes to over the years. It’s strangely comforting, knowing there’s so many possibilities and paths. They say it’s all about timing, and whoever they are … they’re right.
