Forever

We met 17 years ago. I walked the long way to meet you. You explained about extendable straws.

We couldn't marry for years; the law was against us. The change was slow: Civil partnerships, then marriage. Then, finally the time was right and you became my husband, and I became yours.

I am so grateful for you, there is nobody else I'd want to be going through the struggles of lockdown with. I feel closer to you than ever. You support me so much.

And I know, forever, I am the lucky one.
