Homemade

My partner and I have been together for 5 years, we’ve talked a few times about moving in together but always decided it was too complicated and we couldn’t make it work until his 10 year old daughter was a lot older.
At the beginning of lockdown I grabbed a bag of clothes and headed to his flat. We ended up spending two months together 24/7 and had some great conversations about the future. We spent half term with his daughter which had its moments but bonded us as a little family.
When I finally returned to my own flat I felt lost. I realised that “home” wasn’t about the location but about the people. I missed them both so much!
I had my flat valued yesterday and will be putting it on the market in a week or so. We hope to buy a family home early next year.
Without lockdown forcing us into a trial run of living together and making us realise what really mattered I’m sure this wouldn’t be happening!
