Enough was enough
After being single on and off for best part of 10 years, living alone in lockdown was painful. My mental health all over the place but after about 6 weeks I decided enough was enough. The only person who could change my mental state was me. For a confidence boost I activated my online profiles and got swiping.
Bumble found me a match that made me laugh.
We chatted online for a few weeks and then BoJo let us socially distance meet others. So on bank holiday weekend we took our picnic blankets and our own food to a park and sat (6ft apart) and chatted. I wasn’t fussed if it worked or not, this was the first company I had in months!
With no distractions we managed to sit in a field for 4 hours chatting and laughing. Having no work to talk about and no social life to talk about we just talked about life! We ended our date with a Fist pump and were on our way...
Our second date was a bbq and lasted 9 hours, just chatting, listening to music, eating food learning about each other with a socially distanced high five to finish the date.
Then BoJo opened garden centres so off we went for a walk around a garden Center... I was doing my garden up at the time so it worked well!
Between our car park meet ups (in separate cars) , drive throughs, parks Walks, picnics and bbqs we managed to meet a few times a week and my heart smile grew!
In the space of 3 weeks we had spent more time together than if we had dated out of lockdown.
Here we are 20 weeks later and we are happily in love, laughing together and missing each other when not together!
Lockdown taught me to reset and enjoy the moment, and by doing that I’ve found the man who makes my heart skip a beat! 💗
