Hurdles
We first started talking way back in April. You were a friend of a friend and having matched on Tinder, the conversation flowed before coming to an abrupt end when you go back with your ex. Then came September and after having had my heartbroken by a Bumble boy, when your name came up on my insta messages I thought: sod it, I’ll give you another chance. A whirlwind of dinner dates, safari park dates, meeting the parents, doing my shopping whilst I isolated and forming a support bubble so that we didn’t have to be apart come lockdown 2.0 we’re facing our biggest challenge yet: Your mental health. I knew pretty early on about your struggles with cyclothymia and PTSD but it is only now I’m seeing it in its full glory and the way you’re pushing me away because of how isolating yourself is your way of coping. I’m holding onto the way the true you makes me feel, the most loved I’ve ever felt, and praying for the day that you can come to the fore again. I’m hoping and praying that we can get to create the future we’ve spoken about together despite this early hurdle and that we can both learn to love and support each other through the further hurdles we will no doubt face.
