Near Misses

One year since your near fatal accident. We weren't really on speaking terms when it happened but it confirmed to me that I wanted you in my life.

Our reconnection nine years after graduation felt serendipitous, but it was short-lived and ended suddenly just before lockdown one.

I tried to fight for you, then tried to give you the space you asked for. But after your accident I knew I didn't want to lose you forever.

So I'm trying to keep in touch with you, trying to be your friend, still holding onto the hope that one day we'll finally have our chance.
