What if

I went travelling with my best friend and fell in love with her along the way. We'd been best friends for years but always felt more than just a friendship, we'd always hinted our bicuriousity and eventually ended up secretly getting together whilst travelling. The world went into lockdown and we had to come home after spending every day and every hour with her it was difficult being apart we missed each other so much. The first couple weeks we spoke everyday but it took time to realise if we wanted a relationship it would eventually ruin our friendship in the long run. We spent weeks being weird around each other as lockdown was easing, didn't know how to be just friends around each other. She soon ended up getting with a new guy in our friendship group and I spent every gathering having to watch them together. It’s not easy seeing that. We're still good friends and gradually getting over the love interest but I always wonder what might've happened if a lockdown weren't to happen, we'd probably still be together.
