Work secret

I fell in love with my colleague and we spent lockdown together in total secret from the outside world. We cooked, drank wine, watched films, talked. We opened up our whole worlds to one another. I’ve never felt such a strong emotional or physical connection with another person. Yet one day, he told me that was it. He wasn’t in love with me and wanted to let go. I’m slowly heeling but whenever I see his face on a virtual call I seize up. And now I’ll be going through a second lockdown without him.
