Everything happens for a reason

I was heartbroken when 2 years ago he texted me saying he needed a break and just like that I never heard from him again. 

In lockdown I get phone call from him asking me if I’m ok and how I’m coping with lockdown.  

I am coping fine thank you it’s a shame you weren’t this concerned 2 years ago when you broke my heart. I ask him why he did what he did and what the true reason was for the phone call. 

I asked him never to call me again. I just wouldn’t be able to cope with the pain he caused me in the first place. He begged me to give him another chance. 

Everything happens for a reason. 

I am moving on now with my closure.
